As I approached Church Street to start my time at Prova PR, not only was I nervous, but also excited to see what the next two weeks would bring.
Within minutes of arriving, I knew that I would thoroughly enjoy my time here. After never having done work in PR before, I was given the chance to showcase my talents and learn about all things PR.
Before starting, I had little knowledge of how a PR company ran and I was intrigued to see the day-to-day functions. I was surprised to see that no day is the same at Prova. The two weeks flew by and I can honestly say that everything that I have learnt will benefit me in the future.
I was welcomed with open arms into the team and it has been a pleasure working alongside Aimee and St John in the ‘quiet’ office. They have provided me with endless insight into what they do and how Prova works as a company – as well as a lot of talk about cake!
I was shown how to structure a press release and was given the chance to test my skills on numerous examples. It is strange and rewarding to see how much you can learn in such a short space of time. It is very true that you do in fact learn something new every day.
I also worked on many different projects, including social media research for various clients, telephone marketing and even some filing! Everything that I have learnt I can take away with me and will help in day-to-day activities.
This placement has shown me that if you put your mind to it, you can honestly do anything!
PR is something that I would like to do more of in the future and working here at Prova has helped me to realise this. I want to thank the whole team at Prova for being so kind and allowing me to be a part of your team, it has been a truly unforgettable experience!
