Taking warehousing solutions to the big(ish) screen

As part of our Prova TV offering, we have recently completed a video case study on Savoye’s new installation at Next’s homeware warehouse site in Doncaster.

Savoye, a leading automated warehouse solutions provider, fitted a ‘storage and retrieval’ system within the warehouse, something which was far easier to demonstrate to camera than explain through text (although we’ll have a go below).

The system works by receiving the item, taking it from lorry to machine, which then allocates it to a certain space in the warehouse. When the item is ordered, the reference number given reflects the allotted space in the warehouse; the machine retrieves it and takes it to a designated exit point for dispatch.

The short film covers the whole process and has been a great success, as well as proving an interesting talking point with the media. This is the second time we’ve committed a Savoye project to film, after success earlier in the year with Hallmark.
